From 22/01/2019 – 26/01/2019 the festival // In Parallel Spaces – Festival for Contemporary Music and Performance will take place for the second time in the West of Leipzig, Germany. In the gallery nyg|west and at Noch Besser Leben, local and international artists and musicians come together during the five festival days to present a diverse program. The festival is to be understood as a field of experimentation, which is located at the borders between contemporary music and performance, sound art, theater, contemporary dance and media art. The festival aims to let the visitor experience music in different, sometimes rather uncommon ways and expand the scope of the format ‚concert‘. In addition to concerts, performances, installation and dj-sets, there will be also artist talks for the first time in 2019, in which the artists of the festival come together to present and discuss their musical and artistic positions.
Vom 22.01.2019 – 26.01.2019 wird im Leipziger Westen zum zweiten Mal das // In Parallel Spaces – Festival for Contemporary Music and Performance stattfinden. In den Räumlichkeiten des Noch Besser Leben und im Kunstraum nyg|west kommen während der fünf Festivaltage lokale und internationale Künstler und Musiker zusammen und präsentieren ein vielfältiges Programm. Das Festival ist als ein Experimentierfeld zu verstehen, welches an den Grenzen zwischen Contemporary Music und Performance, Soundart, Theater, Contemporary Dance und Medienkunst angesiedelt ist. Im Vordergrund steht der Versuch, den Rahmen des Formats Konzert zu erweitern. Neben Konzerten, Performances, Installation und DJ-Sets wird es 2019 auch artist talks geben in welchen die Akteure des Festivals zusammenkommen um ihre musikalischen und künstlerischen Positionen vorzustellen und zu diskutieren.
