Fernando Hermógenes is a brazilian social educator, transmedia artist, writer and independent researcher. He published the book-work newspaper HéBarro in 2015 as well as two books of poems.
Placed and Lost, 2017, is a serie of videos that record the violence and neglect applied to rural land in a marginal area of the city of São Joaquim de Bicas, Brazil.
The mining company MMX, owned by businessman Eike Batista, has acquired a place to build a housing for more than 2000 workers, but at a certain point, with the work almost complete, the project is canceled and the land abandoned. Without any maintenance or work for a recovery of the area, it is there and resists an immense square merged of undergrowth implanted there, naked and red earth with diverse construction materials. Placed and Lost is a denunciation, a strategy of presenting and counting a story based on real facts and no importance in relation to life, the environment and the future.
